When In Doubt, Red Lip It Out
Big kisses to you, Stila Beso, for always being there for us makeup lovers who apply lipstick at the last minute in the car using the rearview mirror before dashing into work. You make it easy to look like we, ya know…actually had our act together. LOL. Friend, I predict that this could be your new default matte red lip color (if it isn’t one of your faves already), because Beso is opaque. Beso is smooth. Beso has a lovely liquid-y texture, and it starts off creamy and slick. It eases along lips and around edges, so you definitely don’t...
Kérastase Reflection Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Mask for Color-Treated Hair
Unless you’re currently living that Maybach/Balmain/Cartier life, one can’t exactly call Kérastase “budget,” since their shampoos and conditioners are in the mid-$30 range, but if you like their products, or you’ve wanted to try their products, FYI, price cut! In most cases, they’ve dropped their prices between $2 and $8, which isn’t bad. It makes them a little more accessible. I’ve been testing a few things I haven’t used before from their Reflection line for color-treated hair — Bain Chromatique Sulfate-Free Shampoo ($30), Fondant Chromatique Conditioner ($34) and Masque Chromatique ($53). No idea how they compare to their previous pricier...
What Does Self-Care Mean to You?
The way the phrase is commonly used in the beauty world, “self-care” usually refers to outward beauty maintenance — things like doing a face mask or taking a bubble bath or getting your hair done, i.e. “meow time,” and I totally get that, because how many times have I found respite at the salon or in painting my paws or in playing with makeup on my bedroom floor? Too many times to count. But these days self-care also means something else to me. It means taking care of my inside voice and my mental and emotional health by doing the...
First Recital/Future Dance Mom
It may be a little too early to stake this claim, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the label “dance mom” is in my near future. Not in the cray-cray reality TV sense, of course, LOL! I’m not about to launch sordid plots and stir up drama about costumes and choreography. It’s just that Connor Claire started taking toddler dance lessons at a local studio last fall, and they had their winter recital on Sunday, and man! — the kid’s a total ham. She took to the stage like a duck to water. The show had it all —...

Hello and happy Caturday!!! If you ever need shelter from the metaphorical storm, might I suggest Marshalls? — because every time I go there, I find so many cute kitty-themed things. I went a couple days ago, and these blank kitty cards were soooo tempting, but I already have an entire drawer filled with cat steno that I need to work my way through… I also really wanted the kitty toothbrush holder at the top, but I passed because it had a slight chip in one ear. 🙁 Oh, and then there were these cute jars, too… Ah, so much...
